This article discovers the usage of “Enlightenment 啟蒙運動” in the journal “New Youth 新青年.” This article could be divided into three parts. First, this article traces the lexical translations of “Enlightenment” in the Late Qing and Republican Period. Second, this article proposes that the authors in “New Youth 新青年” did not use the translation of “Qi Meng Yun Dong 啟蒙運動.” They followed up the term “Ge Xin Wen Xue 革新文學” from the period of Late Qing Dynasty and transformed this term into “Ge Xin Shi Dai 革新時代” and “Ge Xin Yun Dong 革新運動.” Third, this article could not find any translation of “Qi Meng Yun Dong 啟蒙運動” in this so-called “enlightened journal.”
